James P. Madrox (2011) recently informed his alma mater that his second novel, The Philosopher King, will be published later this year by Cascade Books. Asked if Associate Professor Beauchard, who also publishes with Cascade, helped him secure the books deal, Madrox said, "Beauchard was instrumental to this book."

Despite receiving a less than stellar response from critics, Fenwick alum James P. Madrox (Class of 2011) was nonetheless proud to announce the publication of his debut novel in 2023. The book has been compared (by him) to works from authors with real talent like Cormac McCarthy and Flannery O'Connor.
